DAYS
The Danish Atlantic Youth Seminar (DAYS) is a seminar of one week's duration with approximately 50 young participants from all over Europe and North America.
The first DAYS was held in 1986 and throughout the years more than 1000 students have had the opportunity to take part in DAYS.
The seminar is organized jointly by staff at the Secretariat of the Danish Atlantic Treaty Association (DATA) and volunteering members of the Youth Committee.
The objective of DAYS is both educational and social. This means that the programme of DAYS consists of a mixture of lectures, workshops, debates, excursions and social gatherings. The overall educational goal of the seminar is to discuss and debate issues concerning European, global and international security. Each year a new subject within this sphere forms the leitmotif of the seminar.
The seminar is taking place at the air base of Aalborg in the northern part of Denmark from the 2nd – 8th of July 2008.
The main theme of the 2008 seminar is:
The Cases of Afghanistan and South Caucasus
During the seminar there will be lectures and discussions on the subject by experts and practicans.
Furthermore the participants will take part in a simulation game focusing on the Caucasus area. The simulation game is aimed at enhancing skills in international negotiation and conflict management.
At DAYS the participants will meet with 50 other engaged students and young people from across the world, and take part in an interesting and eventful week.

Participants
The possible number of participants from each country is 1-2 participants.
Age 18 – 30.
Everyone, including former DAYS-participants are welcome, but we will give priority to those who have not attended DAYS before.
Each participant is requested to fill out the application form and to write a short essay about him- or herself and the motivation for applying for DAYS.
Italian participants must send their application and will be selected by the Italian Atlantic Committee ( info@comitatoatlantico.it )
Deadline for applications: 30th of April 2008..
Participation fee is Euro 210. This includes accommodation, meals, social activities, and excursions e.t.c. Guidelines concerning payment will be sent to the participants when they are accepted for the seminar.
