The Italian Atlantic Committee
For over 50 years the Italian Atlantic Committee has conducted research, training and information activities on topics of foreign affairs, security and international economy relevant to the Atlantic Alliance. In order to perform its tasks, the Italian Atlantic Committee promotes a wide range of activities both nationally and internationally.
International Activities: The Italian Atlantic Committee represents Italy in the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), the umbrella organization that unites NATO with the public opinion of the Member Countries of the Atlantic Alliance. This international body has assumed new duties and increasing relevance due to the association of the Partnership for Peace and Mediterranean Dialogue countries.
Study and Research Activities: The Italian Atlantic Committee conducts studies and research in the following fields: NATO and International Organizations, Foreign Relations and International Economy, Transatlantic Relations, Security and Defense. Researchers and working groups develop projects and initiatives with the collaboration of international partners.
Training Activities: The Italian Atlantic Committee organizes Training and Cultural Courses on Atlantic themes. In this field, it also promotes conferences and discussions amongst academic and educational institutions.
Information Activities: The Italian Atlantic Committee is present on the entire national territory by means of the network of Atlantic Clubs, associations through which it coordinates and promotes initiatives on issues related to NATO.
