Speech at the Palermo Atlantic Forum

Hon. Prof. Enrico La Loggia
President of the Italian Atlantic Committee

The "sea between lands" of Fernand Braudel has changed. Gen. C.A. Giovanni Marizza Lt. Gen. Giovanni Marizza
Steering Board of the Italian Atlantic Committee

Adm. Ferdinando Sanfelice di Monteforte
President of the Military Commission of the Italian Atlantic Committee

Among the Islamic countries that were impacted by the recent insurrections, Libya is the most fragile. Therefore the major attention it has recently been awarded when compared to the other countries – even militarily – appears justified. Nevertheless, none of the possible outcomes of this crisis allow us to be optimistic.
