
The Youth Network for Cooperation in the Mediterranean (YNCM) is set to promote dialogue and cooperation between Mediterranean countries and peoples in order to achieve common solutions to the common challenges affecting the region. To this end, the YNCM provides the young generation of Mediterranean leaders with a platform to exchange ideas, expertise and best practices on the way forward to strengthen Mediterranean dialogue and cooperation.
The YNCM focuses its initiatives and cooperation programs on issues of mutual concern and interest for the two shores of the Mediterranean, such as security, human rights, economic development, cultural relations. In this framework, the YNCM promotes research projects, scientific publications, international conferences, as well as study trips to the European and Atlantic Institutions.
The YNCM is aimed at University students, young researchers and professionals from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean countries. It also welcomes the participation of qualified professionals, academics and experts.
The YNCM was launched by the Italian Atlantic Committee on occasion of the Atlantic Forum organized in Palermo on 10-11 of June 2011. The YNCM operates in partnership with the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA) and under the auspices of the Italian Presidency of the Councils of Ministers - Department of Youth.
The traditional Atlantic Forum organized by the Italian Atlantic Committee on "Security and Cooperation in the Mediterranean" took place in Palermo on 10-11 of June 2011 with the participation of distinguished representatives from the political, diplomatic, academic and military world, from centers for research and study and the media, as well as of students, young researchers and professionals from Italy and the southern shores of the Mediterranean.
Course for university students, graduates and PhD candidates on "The New Transatlantic Relations: International Organizations and Security Challenges", promoted by the Italian Atlantic Committee and the Consules Association with the support of the Presidency of the Councils of Ministers - Department of Youth (Rome, May 9-14; Florence, May 16-21; Naples, May 23-28).
