Hon. Franco Frattini

Hon. Franco Frattini is President of the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI) and the Foundation Alcide De Gasperi since 2012. Former Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs (2001-2004, 2008-2012), he was Vice President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Justice, Security and Freedom. Coordinator of the Group of Experts on foreign policy at the European People’s Party, he held other prestigious positions, such as Secretary General at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Minister for the Public Service and President of Parliamentary Committee on the information and security services. Member of Parliament since 1996, Hon. Frattini has been indicated by the Italian Government as Italy’s official candidate to the NATO General Secretariat for 2014.
